Glenn Usdin is a nationally recognized fire chief, firefighter, and photographer. His book They Saved New York captures nearly 50 years of firefighters’ courage, heroism, and sacrifice.

Glenn Usdin has been a firefighter and nationally recognized fire chief for over 50 years, as well as a published professional photographer. Glenn served as a company officer, fire prevention specialist, public relations officer, and fire chief, while also founding a fire apparatus company. His recently published book, They Saved New York, is a stunning compilation of his photography, spanning almost 50 years of taking photos of fires and firefighters, capturing acts of heroism and tragedy.
